Each Child will have their own record of achievement folder (Learning Journey), where written records are kept to show the child's development.
The child's key person will be responsible for following the development of each child allocated to his / her careand will do so inthe following ways:
Write observations taking during free play.
Plan an adult led and child initiated activities.
Write Age 2 - progess checks, after your child turns 2 and will be given to the parent.
Key person and child's parent will talk through the progress check against the three prime areas of learning :(Communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.)
Areas where your child is making good progress will be highlighted and areas where there is need for extra support will equally be highlighted.
This will ensure that their developmental needs are achieved and also enables the child to reach their full potential through parents and key person partnership.
HOME - VISIT ASSESSMENT
After a child is registered with the nursery, inital assessment of the child is conducted, this is carried out by the nursery manager and the child's key person in the child's home. This is the child natural environment for both parent/carer and the child.
EARLY YEARS CURRICULUM
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is how the government and early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and the age of 5.
This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and success.
From when your child is born until the age of 5, their early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, secure and support their development, care and learning needs.
